Regis Prograis slated to fight Mikey Garcia this fall

It seems that Regis Prograis and former four-division champion Mikey Garcia will be matching up for a junior welterweight bout. After quite a significant absence, fans are excited to see Mikey Garcia back in the ring.

DAZN is also excited, streaming the fight and likely drawing well at the box-office with these two combatants. Regis Prograis continues to gain a large following, most recently winning by knockout on the undercard of Triller’s Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren.

Prograis tweeted on Thursday, “The boxing gods have spoken”. He is excited for this bout, calling it the biggest fight available to him aside from the rematch with Josh Taylor. It seems like a contract getting signed is eminent.

We have seen Prograis have trouble making the contracted weight before. He was heavy in his two previous bouts and certainly needs to get his nutrition under control prior to a huge fight like this. Prograis has made numerous callouts in the past, including the likes of Conor McGregor. Finally it seems that his wish has been granted.

Each fighter has just one loss on their professional record. I would even argue that Prograis’ lone defeat was a decision that could have gone his way. It will be very fun to see a fighter like Garcia take on Prograis who earned his previous three victories by knockout.
